I think Daley makes the roster

He throws strikes as well as anyone in that bullpen and the team’s philosophy seems to be “Don’t be afriad to pitch to contact”.

I think he was an easy pick at the beginning of the Spring...

… but it needs to be remembered that we aren’t obligated to take him. The best thing he has going for him is his delivery, and if adjustments are made by other teams, we could be seeing some issues. It’s not so much I’m rooting against Daley as I am trying to ensure we remember that Daley shouldn’t be a staple in the 2010 bullpen just because of a good first impression.

he does throw some pretty nasty stuff

even if you nerf it a bit based on hitter adjustments, I still think his stuff is nasty.

I love him

And I really hope he gets in, but I’m not sentimental enough to insist if a stronger player in better form comes along. Best case scenario is that Daley makes himself undroppable.

Of course not, I was just excited to hear your take on my question!

I figured that would happen. Totally should have put the pronunciation in.

Most Impressed by segment was cool

I would say I’ve also been impressed Greg Smith. He wasn’t great yesterday but he was ok. I’ve also been fairly pleased with Barmes so far. Again, not a great day yesterday but you can tell he is really trying to work the counts a bit more.

We did discuss Greg Smith a bit during the recording, but I cut it for time.

Yeah

curious, why do you try to keep it at 30:00 or so?

I mean I’d be cool with an hour or so. File size too large?

by BringItHome on Mar 15, 2010 1:23 PM MDT up reply actions

Post-production time increases.

I’ve got a busy life this semester (I’m a full time student, working a job, and interning), and spending 3 hours editing instead of 4.5 is a big difference. However, I am not opposed to occasionally making the length longer in the future,. For now, it’s going to be in the 30-40 minute range.

To add to that, a lot of the stuff we talk about is just us rambling and making fools of ourselves. I leave it in when it’s funny, but most of the time it’s just boring. I think you’d be surprised how lame it would have been had we left the entire 1 hour 16 minute recording in there.

Right now, it's also hard because Andrew and I are several hundred miles apart when recording.

When I move back to CO, more interesting things can be done with Rowbot Radio. We can start looking into having other guests from the blog, live broadcasts, maybe a video edition or something. Through the first few months of the season, things will be kept simple.
