I lived in Phoenix a few years ago
and in the summer I would get up @ 5am to hear the weather guy say “It’s currently 90 degrees in Phoenix right now” i don’t understand why people would stay there, ST is the only reason I’d ever go back

Helton didn’t didn’t get it done with RISP either. There are a bunch of you out there that have a lot fancier stats, but in my opinion average with RISP is one of, if not the most important offensive stat. Just my opinion though.

My comment is more of an overall comment
In 2008 the Rockies were horrible with RISP and they had a bad year. I realize that two at bats in a spring training game is not even close to enough for any stat to make a difference. Long term though, if teams take advantage of the chances they have, with at least some regularity, that is a good sign of a potent offense.

They were much better last year and very good in late 2007. I am at work so I can go check the stats, but my hunch is they numbers were pretty good.

I don’t know if they have a kind of “Robin Hood” style rep over there, but here, I’ve had a friend seriously injured by one of their bombs, a friend’s dad received a letterbomb from them (spotted in time thank god), they blew up one of the Thames bridges near me, and I actually hear the famous Harrods bomb of 1980 when playing in my friend’s garden.

In all honesty we really don't know
The problem here seems to be that they keep downplaying the injury and it keeps lingering. This type of thing, especially from a guy who has had injuries in the past worries me because it often doesn’t end well.

Maybe because he went inside again and the benches cleared.

Seattle Mariners pitcher Cliff Lee has been suspended for the first five games of the regular season for throwing a pitch over the head of Arizona’s Chris Snyder in an exhibition game this week.
Lee is in his first season with Seattle. The former AL Cy Young winner was ejected from Monday’s game.
Makes more sense now. He’ll just miss one start. Wonder if there’s a video of the pitch or not. Seems odd since it doesn’t sound like he actually hit him.

Matt Belisle is quietly emerging as a force in the bullpen. The Rockies are downplaying his potential impact, but he’s been a different guy since returning last September. He worked a scoreless inning, hitting 92 miles per hour on his fastball.
I like hearing this. Belisle really was solid at the end of last season, if he can continue that, it will help the bullpen immensely.

I figured it had more to do with me putting up the Rockies flag this morning.
It had to wait until the Roadrunners season was over (which happened Saturday), and I hadn’t gotten to it yet.
BTW, I ordered the “Maria M” special last night at Sonic; guy had no idea, so I had to ask for the extralong chili cheese coney by the menu name…apparently PurpleRow hasn’t taken over the world yet.
Ignorance of the American League is a sign of good moral character.
Look out Dodgers...Purple objects in mirror are closer than they appear.
