OT: Great News for Me :)
Our school has a very prestigious scholarship called the Boswell Scholarship that pays $25,000 a year for 4 years. It's awarded to the top two people at our school. All of the money is for college.. And I got into UCLA and I'm awaiting Cal's admission in 6 days. Anyways, I got the scholarship :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D::D I found out today, it's pretty awesome.
My college education is free :)

Congratulations
$25k puts a big dent in paying for college, but I doubt that makes it free.
My daughter is going to ASU and they’re $33k per year, so I would imagine that UCLA would be similar with the financial problems in Cali.
The oxen are slow, but the earth is patient.
UCLA is 31k per year.
My Cal Grant pays for the other 6k :)

Are you thinking of USC?
UCLA is in and around Westwood, pretty nice area actually ( I live in San Diego). USC is near Inglewood, which has its problems.

I didn't apply to USC due to money.
I’m thinking of Berkeley, and I find out admission in 4 days.

Good luck, and work hard to keep your scholarship!
I had the entirety of my school paid for to start school via scholarships. However, I failed a course my first semester (along with ~225 of ~425 students), and despite two B+’s and an A, my GPA plummeted to the low 2’s, I lost my scholarships and am now saddled with a lot of loans.

Where did you go to school and what class was it?

Physics for Scientists and Engineers I at Colorado State
The professor attempted to have us utilize Calc I, II, III and DiffEq to solve problems despite less than 5% of the students having completed Calc I. He said we needed to study 25 hours a week to pass, and I didn’t believe him. He doesn’t teach that class anymore, and I got an A with a different teacher the following semester

yeah physics
this might be part of the reason we are required to take Calc I before taking Physics I (even though it was still a very hard class).

Calc and physics are closely intertwined.
I’m taking them both in high school, and I see related terms all the time.

I actually took AP Calc I in high school and passed the exam with a 3
But I retook it in college anyway. It wasn’t the Calc I concepts I had trouble with as much as the triple integrals and differential equations

yep
those be the problems. We did that in Physics II E&M though not in Physics I

I'm taking AP Calc AB test in May too.
I’ll letcha know how I do :) I’m definitely looking to pass that test because I’ve been acing every single Calc test in my AP class. I know the AP test is on another level, but I think a 5 is definitely achievable.

It should be noted I'm getting approximately $21,000 in aid from UCLA.
:O I’m rich? Lol jkjkz.. but I have a lotta extra money… Looks like UCLA is paid for in full, for sure. :D

Congrats
I went to a state school that was “relatively” inexpensive and worked all throughout college. So I graduated with “only” 25K in loans . Thankfully, all of which has been repaid.
Now, if only this mortage would go away as quickly :)
