I guess what I'd say
Is that the movie is great for the visuals and sucking you into the world. The 3D is really nicely done.
The story is weak and generic and meh.
So yeah, without the amazing visuals and immersion, you’re left with the weak story, so you wouldn’t enjoy it as much.

Basically it’s between me or 1 other guy, and I’m getting the lunch to see if my personality works well my my potential supervisors and peers. It’s my job to lose. I shouldn’t be as nervous as I was in the panel interview, so I probably won’t overuse words too much.

I kind of fell into composites. Didn’t do anything in school with it (though the FSAE car that we made had a carbon fiber monocoque, but I didn’t work on the chassis team), but when I got out, my uncle gave me a reference at a composite tooling company up here in WA and the rest is history.

and knuckleballs have to spin some to get the desired effect. Less than 1 rotation between the mound and the glove, but some spin will make it dance while none will cause a break one direction or the other.

Yeah, I used to get the Mariners ads on Fox Sports Northwest

Can we as a society please retire the phrase “jump the shark”? I think the phrase itself has jumped the shark, and I am so over it.

Any fan who decides to stop watching a show declares it has jumped the shark. Drives me nuts.
I think the problem is not so much the phrase itself
(though it’s tired) but that, as ShadowPenguin says below, it now gets thrown around way too easily. The second a fan doesn’t like where a storyline is going, or a certain casting decision, etc., the show has “jumped the shark.”
