eckstein was below NL league average in OPS+ last year

And hundley was a shade below, but otherwise, I think that whole lineup was at or above league average last year. Petco plays dirty tricks.

Sorry to be morbid

But I had a dream last night in which Yorvit passed away. It was on my mind, I think, because I had just been told that my grandmother had died (this is in real life, yesterday evening – she was old, frail, and 90, and she had a good innings, which I always thought was a cricketing metaphor though baseball’s possible too) – why Yorvit appeared I’ve no idea.

Anyway, I’m glad she’s not suffering any more, but it’s still very sad. She hadn’t really been herself for a few years, but I’ll miss her. A remarkable woman.

(sorry about that. Back to baseball. GO ROCKIES AND THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME HAPPY, SOMETIMES!)

Since, for some reason, we don’t get excused from lab to listen to Spring Training games.

My conservative estimate for the day: DLR strikes out 8 Padres in two innings, and Tulo walks twice and hits 2 grand slams.
