Staggeringly poor.
The writer has heard of Tulo, and then appears to pick names at random in an attempt to sound like he knows what’s happening. Smith, Spilly and Daley were there last year, did you miss them? And Mora and Rogers the other names to look out for? Do your homework, fella.
On the plus side, we’ll apparently win the still-terrible NL West.
The author seems to believe strongly in the primacy of the AL, with seven teams in top ten...
and overall a low level of knowledge on the NL.

Um, you mean that one time that they did it 3 years ago? Because they were pretty awesome from June on last year. And the conclusion to that referenced sentence is nothing more than a cheap shot at the NL. Yes, we all realize that the Yankees and Red Sox are in the AL, but the NL isn’t that much worse, at least in my opinion.

Since the lockout in 1994 killed the World Series
The AL and NL have each had 4 teams win the World Series
The NL has had 10 different pennant winners and the AL has had 7.
Not that it really proves your point at all, but I do find the longterm parity more intriguing

NL baseball is a hell of a lot more exciting than AL baseball.
Guys, who do you think will lose to the Yankees in the ALCS this year? That doesn’t offer a lot of intrigue for a passionate fan, but it explains why so many lazy fans (like this writer) gravitate to the Yankees. I’ll take the melee of the NL west over the security of the AL east anyday.
That said, Red Sox/Yankees ALCS of 2004 was one of the most exciting sporting event I’ve ever watched.
