Spring Training Game #30: Jeff Francis vs. Carlos Silva

As the Rockies wrap up their Cactus Leagus schedule (subsequent exhibitions over the next few days will be outside AZ) I sort of wonder why other teams like the Cubs don't stretch out their starters as much as Colorado does. Jeff Francis is expected to pitch five, possibly up to six innings today, while his opponent Carlos Silva is expected to go three or four. To me, this would seem to present a big advantage early in the season to clubs that have starters already going sort of deep compared to those that don't, but I really don't know if there's anything to back this opinion up.

Anyway, Go Rockies!
