My First Game of the Year

This Sunday was the perfect day for baseball...75 Degrees...a nice breeze blowing in...hot dogs...Just a wonderful day as a whole!
I took my good camera to the game and took some shots of the action - thought I would share some of them with you here.
The Purple Row - Of course I had to take a shot of the famous Purple Row :) We got to the game early enough to catch the last part of the Padres batting practice...and plenty of time to hike up to our seats! We sat 5 rows below the purple ones!

The stadium wasn't quite at capacity - but a good crowd for a Sunday game against the Padres:
While Ubaldo Jimenez wasn't as sharp as we have seen him - I did see that radar clocked him at 100 MPH on a couple of occasions:
Now for the Money Shot:
I was happy to see that Yorvit Torrealba got a good welcome back from the crowd today:
Had to take one for SDCAT:
Matt Daley looked good today - I think he should be the closer:
But Morales did a great job closing out the game - this one was a Rockies Winner!

One thing I love(/envy) about photographers is that even their everyday snapshots are always really good.
If anyone wants to see some pics of my Australia trip, I’ve started putting them on Flickr – there are 22 up there so far, and I’ll bung another batch on tonight. Link in the most recent blog entry (see below).
(NB I am not a professional photographer, but I do have an excellent point and click Lumix camera, which helps!)

I wore my purple row t-shirt to the game on Sunday.
I got it for my birthday, and it was the first time wearing it. I love the shirt, but I think your picture would be better for the graphic.
I was thinking that would look good on something.
We sorta have a pic like that, but you’re is a little cooler.

tomorrow we go to our first home game of the season! i’ll look for the ‘purple row’ and will try to take some decent pics, like those in these fine examples. hoping for a rock ’em sock ’em game!
