Saturday Pebble Report: Early offensive explosion by Modesto leads to rout over Inland Empire
Colorado Springs, L 2-6
Chaz Roe allowed three runs (two earned) in 5 2/3 innings, striking out six and walking four. Edgmer Escalona allowed three runs on two homers in the ninth inning. Jimmy Gobble made his season debut by recording the final out of the seventh inning.

Tulsa had its game canceled due to wet grounds. A double-header will be played today.
Modesto, W 12-1
The Nuts jumped out to an early 9-0 lead in this contest, putting up seven in the top of the first. A Jordan Pacheco two-run triple, a fielding error, a David Christensen RBI single, and a Thomas Field three-run double accounted for the seven runs. Christensen added another RBI in the second inning. To cap off his night, Thomas Field hit an inside-the-park homer in the fifth inning. He went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a homer, and four RBI.
Kenny Durst allowed a run on four hits and three walks in 5 2/3 innings. Rex Brothers struck out one and walked one in the ninth inning to finish the game.
Asheville, L 4-5
The Tourists attempted a comeback in the seventh inning with a three-spot, but they could only manage to bring the game to within one run. That inning started with back-to-back-to-back doubles by Jose Gonzalez, Joseph Sanders (he had another in the game too), and Tyler Massey. A few plays later Eliezer Mesa drove in a run on a ground out.
Juan Gonzalez allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks in 4 2/3 innings. He also struck out five.

It may be worth noting
that Chaz Roe pitched very well to start the game, retiring the first ten before a single and threw five shutout innings with two singles and a walk before falling apart in the sixth. Perhaps his issues last night were fatigue related.
Also, the man batting ninth for Vegas was none other than Christian Colonel

that seemed to be the case with Roe's last start as well
Since it has happened twice in a row like that, we also ought to consider that instead of fatigue, it’s an issue of batters getting too familiar with him in subsequent lineup trips. He might need to change his late game approach up a bit.
