Ubaldo Jimenez, if you haven't already heard, pitched a no-hitter tonight.
Not just a shutout. Not just a complete game. A no-hitter.
Enjoy tonight, Rockies fans. This is a historic moment. I remember getting excited watching Rockies pitchers go perfect through five and getting excited.
Tonight, it was better.
I only turned on the TV during the seventh inning. The Rockies announcers wouldn't even show the score, bless their hearts. There was no mention of the no-hitter by the TV network, and only three players were standing in the dugout before the last out.
All protocols were followed, all traditions observed. And in their wake, history was made.
Amazing job, Ubaldo. Congratulations on securing your place in history. You deserve it.
Here's to many more.
