The 2010 Rockies At-Bat/Walkup Music Thread

I remember last year there was a thread about what music was played at Coors Field in particular players at bat music. I would like to do that again so I will add the ones I know and please feel free to post any that I've missed.

Ryan Spilborghs: Soft Cell - Tainted Love

Troy Tulowitzki: Miley Cyrus - Party In the USA (no idea why)

Todd Helton: Rodney Atkins - These Are My People

Clint Barmes: Nonpoint - In the Air Tonight

Brad Hawpe: Korn - Coming Undone

Seth Smith: D.C. Talk - Jesus Freak

Jason Giambi: WCW nWo Wolfpack theme

Miguel Olivo: DMX - One More Road to Cross

Chris Iannetta: Chevelle - The Red

Melvin Mora: Khriz y Angel- Na De Na

Joe Beimel: Johnny Cash - God's Gonna Cut You Down

Ian Stewart: Jay-Z - A Star is Born; Matisyahu - One Day

Jason Hammel: Three Days Grace - Riot

Paul Phillips: The Outfield - Your Love

Carlos Gonzalez: Timbaland (ft. Drake) - Say Something

Home runs: Venga Boys - We Like to Party (The VengaBus)

Rally Music: Eric Prydz - Call On Me - NSFW (regrettably, this is such a catchy tune)

Ninth Inning Music: Silent Nick - Palladio

Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

I’ve got some suggestions… ;-)

I belive he said

That there are a lot of young kids and girls that come to the ball park and he likes to appeal and have people of all ages have fun when they come to the ball park.

He also may have said something about a teammates kids or something likeing the song too. Maybe todd heltons girls or something

Not positive but I belive I remember something like that on it.

Agreed, right along with "Sledgehammer"

by Andrew T. Fisher on Apr 26, 2010 9:00 AM MDT up reply actions

Got to go to the game...

They did it PERFECTLY— they had Alan Roach come back to announce him (“DANT-ayyyyyyyy BICHETTE”) AND, they played Sledgehammer… both as he came out for the ceremony, and then later for the “fans pick a song” game (Sledgehammer was all three choices). From what I can tell, Larry Walker coming out was a complete surprise to him… you could see him saying, “I can’t believe it” on the jumbotron. It was a blast to be able to see in person.

by PurpleJersey on Apr 27, 2010 7:16 AM MDT up reply actions

Is there video of this anywhere?

All I managed to get was Bichette high-fiving everyone in the dugout after the fact.

maybe something will show up on Youtube at some point. The problem is there were SO few people there! I was surprised.

by PurpleJersey on Apr 27, 2010 6:22 PM MDT up reply actions

That's so amazing

Moments like that make me feel like the Rockies are maturing as an organization, especially now with the honoring of past achievements. Can we be that far off from fanfests? Number retiring? Bringing back the Wild Card pennants (we do have 3 of them now)?

And also, major kudos to the Rockies org. for having Alan Roach announce Dante. I heard it on the broadcast and was grinning like an idiot :) . I hope they handle Helton day the same way.

And a final note, whoever decided that Sledgehammer should be all three choices in the pick a song segment should be promoted.
