Wow
I’m sorry, but to say that Tebow wasn’t a good passer in college is either ignorance or lazy journalism. Tim Tebow is perhaps THE BEST PASSING QB IN THE HISTORY OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL, according to the numbers.
For reference, see this story.
I’ll sum it up for you.
Peyton Manning’s college passing numbers: 851/1,354 (62.85%), 11,201 yds., 8.27 YPA, 90 TD, 33 INT. Passer Rating: 100.93
Tim Tebow? This will blow your mind: 661/985 (67.11%), 9,186 yds., 9.43 YPA, 88 TD, 15 INT. Passer Rating: 120.72.
Regardless of the common criticisms, the dude was a hell of a passing QB in college. It may not have looked as pretty as some, but he could sling it.

Check out
which offenses Tebow and Manning were respectively running in college, though.
Urban Meyer’s offense gets CRUSHED against an NFL-style defense. Just ask Alex Smith.
I keep trying to reset my password to "penis", but it keeps telling me "too short".
Which NFL defense?
Utah, though a very good program, is not Florida. In the Mountain West, TCU has a hell of a defense, but outside of that, there isn’t much in the way of D. Florida put up some points against the likes of LSU, ‘Bama, Georgia, Tennessee, Miami…the SEC doesn’t get enough love for its defenses.
I understand the criticisms, and I’ll gladly eat crow if I’m wrong. I just hope that everyone that has written this guy off will issue a full mea culpa when he becomes a star.

ANY NFL defense.
The SEC is a great conference, but it’s not even close to as big and as fast as the NFL. There’s a reason nobody runs single wing offenses or spread offenses in the NFL, except as a wrinkle in a larger offensive scheme. They get DESTROYED.
But, that’s what Urban Meyer’s offense IS. It’s the combination of single wing rushing with spread passing. You can run the Wildcat OCCASIONALLY in the NFL, to shake things up, but not constantly. And just ask Steve Spurrier how his passing game fared in the NFL…

To say that
the college defense does not compare to the NFL defense, and to use this as justification for the eventual terrible career of any current college player/draftee seems to be a bit unfair. No one coming out of college has proven that they can beat an NFL defense or an NFL offense. Anyhow, Tebow proved himself at the highest level he and every other draftee has played in, and I’m guessing it will translate to the NFL

Well,
what I’m saying, most importantly, is that the ability to run Meyer’s offense successfully in college IS NOT and never has been a predictor of NFL success. If you don’t believe me, ask Chris Leak or Alex Smith.
