All Star Game to have Permanent DH
As much as I appreciate what Bud Selig has done for the sport's popularity and revenue... he really needs to quit messing with on the field matters.
If you're going to play ball in an NL ballpark, you need to play by NL rules - simple as that. AL managers need to learn the strategy of playing NL ball, and NL managers need to adapt to the DH when they play in an AL park.
Unfortunately, Bud's Special Committee on Whatever decided that they needed to make some sort of mark this year. I know they said "nothing is sacred", etc, but... can you honestly imagine seeing a DH at Wrigley Field? Chavez Ravine? Or in our home ballpark?

wow
I agree they should stick with AL and NL rules for the ASG. We, as fans, don’t even get to pick the starting NL DH, which is lame because we should have some say in that. The other changes make sense, with the possible expansion of the roster to include yet another position player.

This might actually be a good thing
since then they won’t have to burn through reserves quite as fast – or at least won’t feel the pressure to…

Terrible plan
This is the camel’s nose into the tent as the powers that be try to soften our nation up before forcing the DH into the NL. Look if an alledgedly-NL guy like Selig can be softened up by running an AL team for a few decades, what chance do the rest of us have.

I really don't get the alarms
It’s a joke of an exhibition game anyway. Making the World Series home advantage decided by the game is easily 1000 times worse for the game. This only affects this one exhibition game, and in a good way. I understand paranoia that it could leech into the regular season, but there’s no reason to actually suspect it will happen. This change is a positive for the ASG. I support it

Well, if the game still didn't count for anything, I could see it
But if winning the ASG is going to confer home team advantage for the WS, then they need to maintain some parity in whose rules they play by.
… in other news, I agree. Making the ASG decide WS home advantage was a much worse move.
