Purple Row Prediction Competition: Week 1
Once again, I will be running the weekly PRPC, where Rowbots get to test out their mad prognosticating skillz again each other and me, last year's champion.
For those who didn't play last year, these are the rules (with a tweak):
I will make a Fanpost Sunday night or Monday afternoon showing the standings so far and linking to the Rockies' pitching schedule. This thread is where the week's predictions (from Monday to Sunday) will be placed.
You will be predicting:
1. The winner of each game on the week's schedule (worth 1 point)
2. The winning pitcher of each game (worth 2 points)
3. The exact score of each game (worth 4 points)
4. One crazy prediction for the week (worth 5 points)
The crazy prediction must a) be very unlikely to occur and b) somewhat specific (e.g. Tulo will have 10 XBHs this week) in order to receive full points. Any crazy predictions that come true but are in violation of these two tenets will receive anywhere from 0-4 points at my discretion.
You have until 10 minutes before the scheduled start of Monday's game (or the first game of the week) to post your predictions. If you are late, predictions for games played before your post will be null and void, as will certain crazy predictions.
What do you win? Nothing! Just bragging rights, I guess.
Here is an example slate of predictions (taken from last year's competition):
5/18 Braves 11 – Rockies 7 WP: Lowe
5/19 Braves 8 – Rockies 4 WP: Jurrjens
5/20 Rockies 6 – Braves 2 WP: De La Rosa
5/21 Rockies 7 – Braves 3 WP: Cook
5/22 Rockies 13 – Tigers 5 WP: Jimenez
5/23 Tigers 6- Rockies 4 WP: Galarraga
5/24 Tigers 9 – Rockies 3 WP: Willis
CP: The margin of victory in each game will be an even number.
During that week the pick set would have received 6 points (two correct picks of team and winning pitcher)
Here are the pitching matchups for the first week of the regular season. The entire week's slate is not yet available, but it will be updated as the season approaches. Also, don't worry if you can't do a pick set every week--you can participate as much or little as you want.
With that, good luck to all participants!
Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

The link above doesn't yet have accurate pitching matchups, so I'd hold off on making predictions just yet.
However, any questions about the game are more than welcome.

Any rules on picking starters
Should we limit picking the starting pitcher (as the WP) to 4 times per week, just to spice things up a bit

CP Morales has 4 saves 1 blown save
Derek Anderson is just as much a probowl quarterback as Jay Cutler
Not to rain on your parade
But you have the Rockies winning 4 games, with only 3 of them being save situations. Morales couldn’t get a save for the 7-1 game (unless he pitches more than 1 inning; now that would be a crazy prediction).

CPs don't have to work with the rest of your predictions...though synergy can be an added bonus.
