VOTE NOW: FOR ROCKIES!

VOTE NOW FOR COLORADO ROCKIES at www.mlb.com
The recent All-Star voting results came out today for the National League. Not a single Rockie is even close to the top. We must be embarrassed and take it upon ourselves to vote the Rockies in. Go to MLB.com and you can vote 25 times per day. It is really easy and the computer saves your ballot so you can easily vote again and again.

NOBODY WANTS TO SEE THE PHILLIES as our NL Representative or God forbid...any Dodgers.

NL Ballot Should Appear like this

C- Miguel Olivo

1B-Todd Helton

2B-Clint Barmes

3B- Ian Stewart

SS- Troy Tulowitzki

OF- Carlos Gonzalez

OF- Brad Hawpe

OF- Seth Smith

Take it upon yourselves Rockies fans and vote for the best players on the best team in Baseball.

Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

uh

I’d rather watch like 3 different guys play 1B in the ASG than Helton, I’m afraid to say.

I can only think of like 1 2B

also only 1 3B

Tulo owns, should probably play

3 or 4 different OF

Olivo should totally be on the club

I’d say Cargo is doing well enough to be an all star.

Go Rockies! First and only member of the Manuel Corpas fanclub right here! :/

You're such a homer.

I'm not making a banana bread pastrami cottage cheese sandwich. That would severely ruin my reputation.

Yes I know

I couldn’t actually get myself to vote for Helton, Barmes, Smith, or Stewart

My issue with All-Star voting is

that fans simply vote for everyone on their team.

Look at the NL All-Star votes results…
Alcides Escobar in the top five shortstops? I don’t think so. If you look closely, the Brew Crew have a player in the top 5 at every position except catcher, which includes 3 outfielders in the top 15. We can learn three things here… 1) There are a lot of Brewer fans voting (and often), 2) They are very loyal to their own players, 3) They must really not like Gregg Zaun

If you care about the lineups you should vote, but don’t just pick all Rockies, someone like Clint Barmes is clearly not having an All-Star season so someone else deserves to go to the game.

Yes, and I'd vote for them for sure.

I’d have some home town bias, like I’d put CarGo in there too even though he’d be on the fence to deserve it. Great year for him… All-Star?? I’m not convinced.

Is the MLB all star voting

100% fan based, or do players and skippers have a say?

My name is synonym for win.

but

not the DH in the NL (another reason it should be abolished)

I want to see Rockies in the game but I also want the NL to finally win an All Star game, especially since it has meaning to it. I do however believe that Tulo, CarGo and Olivo belong in the game with Ubaldo starting. But I voted for Utley Eithier and Pujols as well as the Panda. Its important Colorado gets some recognition but I want the most competitive team out there to beat the AL!

by Tim Lorenz on Jun 2, 2010 5:54 PM MDT reply actions

My ballot:

1B: Votto
2B: Prado
3B: Cantu/
SS: Tulo
C: Barajas
OF: CarGo
OF: Hart
OF: Heyward
Write In: Ubaldo ;)

He's been a bit overshadowed this year.

Even Adrian Gonzalez deserves it over the Machine.

Utley has not been good the last few weeks.

Weeks is up there on my list too, so is Phillips.

Cantu had an amazing first three weeks, is coming down a bit. The big squishy panda is high on my list, as well as Casey McGehee.

Absolutely

Utley has struggled for the past two weeks. Prado’s been more consistent to this point in the season in my eyes. I usually change my vote as the season wears on. If Utely turns it around I’ll start voting for him..

by EssentialCo on Jun 5, 2010 12:13 AM MDT up reply actions

2 weeks?

even with that poor 2 weeks Utley is like 40 wOBA points above Prado

However the correct answer is Kelly Johnson unless we’re factoring in fielding. Then it’s Utley again.

by Andrew Martin on Jun 5, 2010 2:56 PM MDT up reply actions

Do we have to use stats to vote for All Stars?

Can’t we just vote based on how well we feel each is doing in our own opinion?

you could

but then you wouldn’t be putting the best team on the field (see: Phillies fans)

Sure

That’s what everyone does. I just prefer to vote for the best players at each position for that given time.

I just did my 25!

I’m ashamed to say that I haven’t done that for the past couple of times that I’ve voted.
