FYI... I noticed that FSN is not carrying the matinee next Thursday 7/22 against the Marlins.
However, good news from MLB Network. They are planning to carry that matinee on MLB Network on Thursday 7/22, so there won’t be a total blackout along the Front Range. MLB Network helps Rockies fans again, as was the case in Ubaldo’s start in June in Minneapolis.

the one thing I will say is that you have to give all of these singers a major handicap because of the stadium reverb
It makes it really difficult to stay in perfect pitch, I’m sure of it. Much less, the nervousness of millions of eyes on you. That being said, I definitely preferred the National Anthem singer’s powerful voice over Colbie.

I don’t really see it as any better or worse than alternating like they used to do. If they’re not going to do best record, at least this way it’s made the ASG better.
I think the all star game should mean something
but I think it should be a non profit charity thing. The only fair way to decide this from year to year is alternate it. It’s not an individual teams fault that their side didn’t win the all star game especially when fans vote on the starters

I guess I just don't see how alternating is any better.
No other sport does that, they all do best record. So I guess alternating seems sort of arbitrary. It’s not an individual team’s fault that they happen to make the WS in the year the other league gets home field, either.
But I would be fine with going back to alternating as long as they come up with some way to keep the ASG the way it has been lately, with some sort of importance attached.
I think some kind of charity idea is the only good thing
besides pride which is huge.

The problem with the charity thing, though,
is that it ends up sucking for whatever charity is representing the league that loses. You’re never going to get the union to agree that it comes from the player’s salaries. So it’s going to have to come from some other fund. I guess they could have donations for both, just bigger for whoever wins.
Donations, a ten percent of proceeds
whatever it’s not like baseball can’t raise or has enough money.
