On this off-day I am going to prepare to bottle my 2nd summer batch of IPA in the never ending search of the perfect IPA recipe. My question or request for help is this:
I want to slightly tweek the recipe I am using (Austin Homebrew's American IPA type I) to become more hoppy... more punch you in the stomach, more "dam that's hoppy and I think I almost got high because the hops kinda smell like kind bud."
So.... I am going to switch the original hops from a columbus hop (approx 11.7 acidity) to a cascade hop, about 14.2 (i think) so the question becomes: What part of the hopping process do I switch hops?
I am not going to add the Cascade hops to the original Columbus, it is going to be an exchange ( I double hopped a Pilsner to a not so good effect)
