Know Your Foe #41: If Only The Rockies Had A Sherman, Or The Braves Visit Coors Field
Atlanta Braves (73-51, 1st NL East)
Last Series vs. Rockies: 2-1 series victory in Atlanta
Well, we all know the two things that happened back in April when the first part of this season series took place. One was spectacular: Ubaldo Jimenez's no-hitter. The other was spectacularly awful: a blown call on what should have been the game-ending double play to give the Rockies a road series victory.
Last Two Series Results: 2-1 series victory over Washington; 2-1 series victory over Cubbies
Tim Hudson allowed two runs in seven innings on the middle game of the series against the Nats. However, he didn't get the win as Jason Heyward drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. The Nats got to Derek Lowe the next day, tagging him for four runs. Jair Jurrjens also took a no-decision when he started the next day and allowed three runs in seven innings. The team slaughtered the Cubs on Sunday 16-5.

wait - we actually get to play at Coors?
I know the Rockies have played terribly since the all star break, but consider that 17 of their 21 post-ASG losses have come on the road. They are 7-17 on the road and 7-4 at home. This starting at a point where we were an error out of first place.
The schedule is finally lightening up, with 17 of the next 23 at Coors Field. This stretch contains all the hope there is left.

I have some hope.
If anything, I’d just love to see us get some wins. My playoff hopes are all but dashed, but its still been a fun ride.

I would like to say our offense will finally do something
since they are playing at home, but facing Tim Hudson doesn’t make it that promising.

Seth Smith’s beard looks on in anticipation.
