I hit trips on river, but that gave him boat. I’d flopped TPTK, and since I wasn’t folding, decided to be aggro and shove. His turned set actually gave me redraw for a higher OESD.
But his call there with nothing but 3rd pair and OESD (with flush already on board) was so LOL

there’s this plastic dinosaur making its way around the backroom and on the underside it has a hole in it. So I make a joke about how one of my co-workers likes to (…) a dinosaur there. Because ever since the 3rd inning yesterday, they’ve taking about 15 innings of unprofessional ABs out of the last 18 innings. They’re pressing hard now. And making errors, and playing exactly like a team that’s probably going to go no better than 7-5 in their last 12 games, tops.
Maybe SF and SD completely collapse, and 7-5 gets it done.

Sometimes you’re just going to get beat down the stretch (2007 notwithstanding). Worst case, there’s something to focus on next spring and the team doesn’t make the same mistakes again. Sure would be nice to be 3 or 4 games up right now instead of 2 or 3 down.

I had an odd thought on this tonight
some of them do. Those at the bottom of the lineup. Seemed like Olivo, Spilly, Herrera, and Helton all put in professional at-bats there in the 8th and 9th. Fowler and CarGo were pressing. Experience vs Youth (plus Herrera seems to always give a good at-bat)?
I don’t have data on this beyond my very recent observation, but I wonder. If that’s the case, it’s good news because the team will gain experience and get better in those situations.

Tracy didn't say anything about Tulo's condition after the game
though the Tulo HBP was brought up and he said it was “a little odd to me” that Saunders, who had excellent control tonight, hit Tulo with the 1st pitch with a base open.
Ringolsby speculated that the ump didn’t issue a warning at that point because he wanted to give the Rockies pitcher a chance to get back. Once DLR came inside the warning was issued. Not sure I completely buy that, but Ringolsby knows this game a heck of a lot better than I do.

Took awhile
if my math and memory are correct, the Rockies offense was shut out for 16 consecutive innings, from the 3rd of the last game in LA through the 7th tonight. I knew tonight’s performance was sad, but hadn’t realized it was quite that sad

Yes. The pitching tonight was quite good
De La Rosa certainly did his job and kept the game within reach, and we didn’t have to use much bullpen. I predict the offense will show up in a big way tomorrow.
