I have a good feeling about Cook tonight
The Padres are the opponent for him to return against given his career numbers

Me.
They also have some really low OBP numbers.
Oh, and Scott Hairston and his career .913 OPS against the Rockies can GTFO.
Just an average guy with exceptional hair. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm actually surprised that Hairston's OPS against the Rockies is not even higher
I hate Scott Hairston

It's heartbreaking...
how close we were to catching these punks at the break.

It's Friday night and the weather is finally cooling off...
… to the low 100s here, anyway. It’s a holiday weekend. The great outdoors beckons as people finally feel safe to take a walk in the neighborhood in the early evening without fear of heat stroke. My yard calls to me, saying, “Give me a nice trim around the hedges there. Not too much off the top, please.” “Could you check my water? I’m feeling a little dry after a hot August.” “Oh, hey… look at me, your swimming pool. Don’t I look inviting? Come on, take a nice dip.” “Hey HEY it’s your lawn here … I’m feeling a bit shaggy today and I think I’m going to seed. Give me some love so I can be soft and cooling to your bare feet again.”
Meanwhile, my favorite team teases me. It whispers in my ear, “Oh, yessssss baby just one more time. I know I failed you last night, baby, but didn’t you enjoy the tease? You know I’m the BEST at that. Tonight will be different, really. I’m here for you baby. Give me some more love. You won’t regret it!”
It’s 7:00 and my computer beckons. “Just type in mlb.tv, baby. It’s quick and easy and it will make you feel gooooood.”
But not tonight. I need to get on with my life. I love you, Rockies, but you’re taking over my life. Life beckons from beyond the LCD. Call me when you start loving me as much as I love you.
This is my first signature and I'm very proud of it.

Funny. I wrote this before I saw the Bart Giamatti link above.
Needless to say, he put it much, much better than I did.

So a sweep and we are back in this thing
lets go Rockies
Clint Barmes is not a good hitter.
Free Chris Nelson.... again.
Don't hold your breath this series is on the road . . .
I tried to stay on the positive band wagon as long as possible but I finally jumped off last night and am watching for the future not for this year.

Well, we have only lost 1 of the last 5 series at PetCo Park
And they are on a huge losing streak. It could happen

What happened to Yorvit?
I’ve been busy all day and haven’t surfed the internet. What does “other-excused” mean?

Sometimes the "other-excused" and "60-day/out for the season" sections of the widgets are buggy
Torrealba has missed two games with a stiff back but should be ok for the series

The padres
could make you-all feel good. Our regressing pitching is resonating nicely with our suddenly softening defense, so that the last seven (or more) games have been filled with crooked scoring numbers in several innings for their opponents. It is painful.
perhaps
But Tracy is throwing out another ‘keel over and expire’ lineup along with a pitcher who has thrown one decent game in the last three months.
It’s a toss up.
/go rockies :)
