Thoughts on ITR: Farm Report
After noticing a rather cryptic reference to a monthly Inside The Rockies Farm Report in one of the recent PuRPs related posts I decided to look into the option of donating/subscribing.
For others who may not yet know about Jack Etkin's revived Farm Report or who, like me, were a little bit nervous about the donation process I figured that I would share my positive experience.
They are attempting to raise some money via donations in order to continue running the site and possibly even offer some more coverage if possible. Donations are handled by PayPal in a very simple and direct fashion and response times seem to be prompt from the guys at ITR.
I already received the August Farm Report (the September report should be released soon) and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Farm Report, delivered as a .pdf file and in a magazine style layout, was both more detailed and more professional in presentation than I had expected. It definitely exceeds the Rockies coverage in the average Baseball America issue (though I guess that to be fair BA is bi-monthly I think) and appears to provide information and insight that doesn't appear to be available from any other source.
For those who are looking to donate to Inside the Rockies in order to help the former Rocky Mountain News guys keep the site running or those who simply want the extra scoop on the Rockies farm system I would definitely recommend donating $25 (or more if you wish) in order to receive the Farm Report.
P.S. - I am not affiliated with ITR in any fashion but simply thought that others who frequent Purple Row might be interested in a little more detail about this offer. Hopefully this fanpost doesn't violate the rules or ToS.
Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).
