CY Young, MVP or Triple Crown

Just thought I would throw this out there. Which 1 or 1's of these awards do you think Jimenez and CarGo have a chance at? Do there even have a shot at any of them? What is your opinion?

Star-divide

Jimenez is battling Halladay, Hudson, and Wainwright for the CY Young.

CarGo has Pujos and Votto for the MVP and Triple Crown honors.

What does Rockies nation say...all three, two of them, only one if we are lucky, or none of them.

I voted for two..

To Jimenez doesn’t have much of a shot at the CY Young, mostly because of his “poor” second half. Even though his overall stats are still right there with everyone else, and he plays half his games in Coors…though that doesn’t seem to matter for anything but snubbing our hitters.

Carlos still has a pretty good at the triple crown and MVP though, in my eyes. All he needs to do is get hot with the homers, which could very well happen with so many home games. And with the homers obviously comes RBIs….so there is a chance.

I also think that if the team somehow makes the playoffs, which isn’t impossible, Cargo would have to get a lot of votes for MVP. It would probably be between him and Votto, but with the way Carlos has carried this team recently, and then leading them into the playoffs…it would be a crime if he wasn’t at least top 2. And if he were to get the triple crown in the process of that, it would be nearly impossible to not give him the MVP. Although I’m sure they’d find a way to do it, as we saw in ’07.

Alanna Rizzo is my dream girl.

I voted for all three...

because thats what I want, but not probable what will happen. To me if you had to take 1 away the easist one would be the triple crown. Those a fool proof, can’t be snobbed, but also might be our only chance at getting any of them.

Jimenez is the rock of our staff and if not for the 3 games in which we lost 1-0, 1-0 and 2-1 when he pitched, he would be sitting at 21-3. At that point he would be a shoe in.

CarGo might not have gotten all the votes for the ASG, but he should get his far share at the MVP. He has come on after then ASG to hit .388/.426/.770 with an OPS of 1.195. Add in 14 HR’s and 37RBI’s in 46 games played. With 25 games left he could easily hit another 10 HR’s and get another 25 or so RBI’s.

It all depends on the next four weeks.

If U-ball goes 5-0 with a sub 2.00 ERA, then he likely is back in position to win the Cy Young.

It’s all about hype though, regardless of the fact that he plays at Coors, he needs to finish strong. IF that happens, I give him as good of a shot as anyone.

Cargo’s just a beast. I can’t believe he doesn’t turn 25 for another month. They need to lock him up long term just like they did with Troy, because I don’t want him going anywhere (or anywhere near arbitration).

Key for this is: they need to make the playoffs and them the rest will follow.

CarGo is a Scott Boras client.

We could sign him for 2-3 more years, but then unless he gets rid of Scott, he will become a FA for the rest of the MLB to bid on. I know that totally sucks, but that is life. Know if we can offer him more then market value, CarGo will be here to stay. I think we need to keep a winner on the field as well.

Follow A-Rod lead

Let’s see if we can start a purple campaign to get CarGo to follow A-Rod’s lead and bag Boras.

Most likely would be Carlos' TC run

Because he has control of obtaining that himself. Seeing as how often a TC happens, however, I don’t think any of the three occur.

And even if the Rockies make the playoffs and Carlos leads all three TC cats at the end of the season, I figure he wouldn’t place any better than 4th in the MVP voting for 2010. If he puts up these kind of numbers next year, however… that might start to get him some credibility and votes.

That's what I don't get with these voters.

How, if CarGo does get the Triple Crown, do there snob a guy for the MVP if he wins the triple Crown, and who often does that happen, and helps bring his team back form 10+ games back in the last 2 months of the season…sounds like MVP to me.

It also hasn't happened since 1967

so that leads to safe assumption that he will be at least in top 2 if he wins. If he gets anywhere near TC with how much better his defense, arm and speed than Votto or Pujols’ are he should get some love but I doubt he will. I still don’t understand how Halladay or Felix win awards at unknown places but the Rockies can’t.

A lot really depends on how the last month plays out

If we end up winning the division or getting the Wild Card spot I think it drastically increases both Ubaldo and Carlos’ chances of winning some awards. If we don’t make the playoffs I can’t see us getting any, unless Carlos wins the Triple Crown, which if he does he will surely win the MVP.

Cargo is our only shot

If Cargo can manage to catch Albert in HR’s by the end of the season, i think Cargo will take the triple crown and be rewarded with the MVP honors.

none of the above...

Give me playoffs and I’ll be happy!
