So....question about the game
Johnny Cueto and Fred Lewis were both healthy enough to come off the DL, I put them in my lineup, and it still reads they are injured next to their names.
Should I assume they will be ready to play and upload? Or am I forced to play around them for a few days (or week) until I know for sure…

And then stunk in middle relief the next two games.
So my question is: should we expect players to be rusty after injury? If so, how do we stop the game playing them (like when it put in Aaron Cook for me the day he came back after 8 months of, and he gave up 6 runs in 0.1 innings)?
Secondly, what happens when a player comes off the DL halfway through a sim – does the commish place aid player back on the active roster on the manager’s behalf?

You have to wait for the next Sim. Also in regards to the other I would suggest using the 7day lineup tool. I did this for Polanco when he came back from injury and was still knicked. I gave him a couple extra days off and then eased him back into the lineup, it seemed to work.

well, I brought back Cueto last week
but the game skipped his spot in the rotation. He still reads as injured..
Was he not ready to come off the DL, and if so, then why was I allowed to put him back on my 25-man. Since he hasn’t even thrown yet,he should be well rested and ready to play, but that problematic red cross next to his name scares me.

I know we're weeks away from this
But what am I supposed to do during the PRMLB hiatus? 3 weeks away from this is going to be tough. This wait between Wed and Sunday is tough enough let alone 3 weeks. I didn’t expect to get addicted so quickly especially since I’m not really a fan of the Cards.

That's not a bad idea
I’ve started looking through other teams’ minor leaguers but haven’t focused enough of my attention on my own. I may start there but ultimately I’m going to have to make a list of potential trade targets since some upgrades will be necessary come July.
What’s thrown me off is a lot of players have already changed teams so targeting a player may be difficult since i’m expecting to see someone where they no longer are. At least this league isn’t afraid to wheel and deal so it should be an interesting trade deadline.

where are you redownloading it from? when i try to download it again within the game it says my files are up-to-date

if you go into your settings folder in your PRMLB file
there should be a thing that says something about league_timeline, etc (I don’t remember exactly what it’s called). If you just take that out of the settings file, you should be able to download the league file again.

Last sim, I needed to download the thing 5 times before it corrected the date. I’m currently downloading it for the 3rd time to try to get it to switch.

You can't turn this off really.
When a player is eligible to come off the DL, right click on him and there should be an option to send him to a rehab assignment. That’s it.

I have no clue how to construct this infield
Alberto Callaspo is a more or less better hitter than Macier Izturis, but Izturis is far and away a better fielder. Okay, so I can move Izturis over to play a less natural position, like second. Oh wait, Howie Kendrick is playing fantastic at second, and Izturis is better against lefties. Well no bother, let’s move him over to first, except Mark Trumbo is my best hitter outside of Andrew Romine for some reason (which prevents anyone from taking him out of SS). But here, Izturis is better at second than Kendrick, so we’ll play him there, except Kendrick is a better batter on Sundays when he walks out of the dugout whistling Dixie. And then there’s Erick Aybar and Brandon Wood, because lolbaseball.
Once I figure that out, then I need to somehow figure out how I can bat Romine in 3 different places in the order, since he’s the only one producing runs.

So I pulled him off and he’s still around. You’ve gotta trade for him instead.
As for Richard, yeah… But I think they make up for it by their more than generous ratings for Hawpe and Latos (among others).

Actually, you want to see generous ratings, check out my bullpen.
All of them. It’s like someone forgot about Petco when they graded out the Padres relief corps.
Which is all a big part of why I usually play fictional leagues on my own. Don’t have to worry about unrealistic ratings when you don’t have real players.

I think a lot of the problems have been caused by people having different Builds of the game.
We are all going to update to the latest build AFTER this sim. Here’s what you will do:
1) Upload your team for the final time before the Sunday sim.
2) Upgrade to the latest patch.
3) Download the league file AFTER the sim. This file will be done AFTER I upgrade.
4) Continue play.
Let me know if you have issues with this process.

do not update your version of OOTP without being told to do so. It can screw things up.

I was able to install the correct version..
Here’s a link to the website with the different versions. So now it’s confirmed I’m on the correct version of OOTP, but my file still will not upload. I keep getting the following error message:
The loading of the database failed. It is either corrupt or a save-game from an old version.
I’ve tried the direct download of the tar.gz on separate computers and it’s still not working. Is there an FTP site I can directly download the latest update?

There's information about it on the website.
It is all pretty minor. My biggest hope is that it fixes some of the download issues because I think the different versions we might all be on are causing problems.

Might I propose a change?
I’d like it if we could turn off the “diagnosis pending” stuff.
In my case, Donnie Murphy is hurt, diagnosis pending. Is he out for a month? a day? I don’t know, but that’s a couple of weeks where I’m going to have an injured player on my roster and I can’t do anything about it.
The idea of diagnosis pending is great, if I can react immediately once there IS a diagnosis. But until then, it’s pretty frustrating to have to eat a roster spot while I wait for the sim to conclude.

I’m using a 6 man rotation actually. Subbing Worley for Oswalt every other start so his arm doesn’t fall off before the trade to the Yankees is finalized.

I don’t usually get anything that nice in the business world. That being said, I will consider your offer. I’m thinking about shortening the leash on my starters though. They seem to be giving up a lot of runs in the later innings and my bullpen is my only strength right now.

only Worley is showing normal are out of the SP’s. Street and some of the relievers show normal or good too. Any chance they ask for a trade to STL? How does morale affect things in this game?

Looking at the online reports, if I’m looking at your player salary breakdown, I show Vernon Wells making 21 mil every year. Does the in game show anywhere that the Angels are paying money each year for Wells?
Like hypothetically, if I wanted to trade for Wells, how would I know I don’t have to pay him 21/yr?
