Hello fellow Purple Rowbies. A buddy of mine from Kansas City and I (from the sticks of Central KS) will be making our first trip to Coors Field for the July 4th weekend series vs the Royals. This is a two night, one game attendance trip. We've never been before, could possibly (never know) be our/my only trip to Coors so the cost of some things isn't really an issue, excluding the crazy expensive stuff, we are just regular guys on a budget...but we'll splurge on some things if it's worth it for a one shot deal. With this in mind I'm looking for some help on a few issues:
1. Where should we stay?
2. We'll probably only go to the Saturday game, so that being said...where should we try to get tickets? I'll buy them as soon as I get good response. Excluding the ultra fancy luxury seating, where should we sit? I'd say...View -> Comfort (we're both hefty fellas) -> Atmosphere -> Food and Bathroom availability I guess in that order.
3. We are planning on driving in Friday morning, maybe Thursday night (depends on the pitching matchups). So, we want to hit up a good sports bar for the Friday night game. Again, throwing out the ultra expensive places, where should we go for watching a game in a sports bar? Preferably close to where we are staying, unless you guys have someplace really good that is worth making the roady across town. We would want someplace cool, fun, great people, good atmosphere, etc. Maybe even if you guys have an official Purple Row watch sports bar...?
Obviously I could just google maps some places, etc. But I'd like input from you guys who live there and know the area/great/bad places to go.
Thanks for any help that you guys can give! CKRF
