Opening Day Meet and Greet?
Opening Day is fast approaching (2 WEEKS PEOPLE) and fans everywhere are getting ready to watch their team play in the 162 game marathon called the regular season. I put out this proposal to any and every Rowbot who will be in the Denver area for this most celebrated occasion: Do you want to meet up on April 1? Some simple options include:
- Meet in Denver before the game for lunch and talk about our expectations for the season and get ourselves pumped and ready to go
- Meet inside the ballpark before the game because honestly who wants to leave their seat during the game to go meet some stranger you might miss anyway
- Meet after the game to rehash the great/terrible game that was just played and talk about where we go from that point forward, or
- I don't want to meet up because I just want to watch baseball and go home.
Please vote in the poll by Wednesday and a second part will follow to determine times and locations. If you have suggestions or requests for times and locations please place them in the comments section. This is going to be a great year, let's kick it off together.
Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).

Meet? I just want to watch and go home : )
I believe in the future, the reality of the present, the sweet memories of the past, living is more than breathing, spring will came if we wait, patiently, believing, hoping. But the winter is long and we must endure its cold. I believe in the future, the reality of what is to come, the sweet memories that are yet to occur, probably, eventually, someday.
And I believe in hope and anticipation: the idea that we’ll meet again, and counting down the days until we do.
I would vote
but I won’t be there :(

If we get enough people
does that mean I can give a pregame lecture on George Kennan’s tenure as head of the Policy Planning Staff and how it all relates to the Rockies?

If I have to go to the office before the game, I’ll try to swing by, but my present plan is to stay hom that day, arrive early and park in the accessible rows of Lot A with Jenn so we can come in through the accessibility entrance behind the stadium.

Me and the gf were seeing if we could combine a trip to NYC with a Rockies game but both the Mets and Yanks games are early in the season and we could only go later. A trip to Denver is harder to justify sadly…
I don't get paid untill after 2pm. If there was an after; I'd be in.

Do we know
if there will be any parking in the area at that time, or if Coors Field parking will be open this early?

Depends when "at that time" is.
I try to be in LoDo by 10AM on Opening Days and there’s usually still parking to be found (but it’s expensive). I take the light rail to avoid it but my father-in-law drives in and generally has good luck parking. By 11 or 12 I’d expect a different story.
I believe the Coors Field gates usually open 2 hours before game time (so 12:10) on Opening Day but I can’t find confirmation of that. Pregame festivities are scheduled to start at 1:30.

Was planning on parking before 11am to get over there around 11am, but looks like I’ll have to be a little later. Will have to rely on others saving spots.
Pretty sure Matt and I are walking up

I won't.
But I’ve decided that if things work out I’m going to make at least one game this year at Coors.
I’ll bellow my head off for the Rockies.
Which will be interesting if the opponent is the Giants because per my contract with the Devil I’m obligated to bellow my head off for the Giants as well.
