Yes, the Alan Johnson.
He may be an 8th starter at best but come on. I mean, this guy was rumored to be part of a Roy Halladay package a couple of years back! He's such a mystery man that SB Nation's photo of him doesn't show up. Chicago doesn't stand a chance. I'm just glad that I will be able to witness the glorious sight in person (plus, Ubaldo bobblehead!). The Cubs will counter with some schlub named Ryan Dempster. Poor guy.

Rockies are really screwing around with Ian Stewart.
What they’re doing makes NO sense whatsoever.
Why not start him today against Ryan Dempster? If you’re not going to start him against RHP, send him to the damn Springs then! He obviously needs AB’s because he’s just off offensively….. Make the right decision.

I really think the only answer is to send him back down to AAA for a little while.
Get him playing time consistently, find his stroke, and the get him back up before June

This is one game
I have no idea what to expect. I had a bad feeling about yesterdays game (mainly because Hammel has been decent and but shaky at best in his previous two outings, and looked hittable enough that you knew the bottom would fall out at some point — plus the bizarre lineup we fielded) and a good feeling about this Giants series coming up next week.
Today? Anything is possible.

But until then, anyone else feel that in addition to considering sending Stewart down the Rockies should consider outside options for 3B and/or RF?
I am not 100% confident that we have a consistent threat behind Tulo and Cargo. And Fowler as well as Hererra seem they do belong where they are.

I have been looking and thinking "reasonable" options
And I don’t see any. I feel that Wright probably costs too much for limited benefit.
At this point, I think we may have to call it good with what we have and hope that the Toddfather and the backups give us enough. More research is necessary!

I wear it to Rockies games all the time. Doesn’t mean much.
I just don’t look good in purple.
Plus, a lot of older baseball fans could follow the Cubs back before Denver had an MLB team. Cubs fans are harmless. It is Dodger fans I’d be worried about.

you’d think someone would’ve brought up how much the Rox go head first (or maybe I just missed it). but the first thing I thought of after watching Hamilton was Holliday’s bloody chin, rolling around in the dirt looking woozy back in the day. and there’s been a lot more head-first slides from Colorado, including CarGo at home plate in this game.
I imagine he does this a lot.
I remember a game last year in which Cito Gaston had his DH—his DH, for crying out loud—lay down a sac bunt with one out.
