In light of the Rockies current hitting slump as a whole and the rumors swirling about Jose Reyes of the Mets possibly heading to San Francisco I heard today that the Rockies may have a deal in the works of their own.
Per a buddy of mine who has been in contact with Troy Renk, I have heard that the Rox may be talking with the Mets about a deal including David Wright. The players going out with be either Wiggington or Lopez along with Stewart and a pitcher. I have no idea if this is legit and I know my buddy said Renk told him he doesn't know if the Rox are in discussions per se. or if they would commit the money towards Wright and his contract but I was just curious as to your thoughts on this. I'm guessing the Pitcher in the deal would probably be Esmil Rogers but would you guys welcome a deal like this even if it is possible? As a Rox fan (and a Red Sox fan yes go ahead and let me have it now) I think the Rockies should jump all over this. A lineup of Fowler, Herrera, Cargo, Tulo, Wright, Helton, Smith, Ianneta, Pitcher would be nasty to say the least and I really think the Rockies need a legit power 5 hole hitter.
I have Cargo and Tulo on my fantasy team as well as JDLR and Chacin so I would welcome this deal especially because Tulo has been subject to an intentional walk a few times usually with Lopez or Spilly hitting behind Tulo in the order. It drives me crazy as a fantasy owner and a Rockies fan. Just crurious as to what you guys thought about this. Take care!
