Tyler Matzek Will Return to Asheville Rotation Tomorrow
After one month away from minor league ball, the Rockies pre-season #1 prospect will be back on the mound for a Colorado affiliate tomorrow night in Asheville.
If you know enough about Matzek to have the slightest opinion of him, you MUST read this 1600+ word article by Jack Etkin, which is guaranteed to increase your understanding of Matzek's situation tenfold in the least.

i wish the kid the most success in the world, but man is his road tough
the only organization of humans responsible for more evil in the universe than the philadelphia phillies is the boston red sox
i dont care if it's tracy's fault or not, i want heads to roll
anyone interested should also watch videos of Matzek training during his break
i thought they were fascinating
here, here, here, here, and here.
his pitching motion is always going to look weird. but if it works, it works.

that looks like it wouldn't really go well with throwing breaking pitches

He will legitimately look “weird.”

also very interesting
Matzek’s trainer in California is the member Kinexus, if you don’t want to go back and read the entire thread.
He actually puts some of the blame on Matzek for what happened with the mechanics changes, saying that he listened to other coaches (not just Rockies coaches) who gave him suggestions that made his delivery more traditional and experimenting with them, even though he (the coach) told him he need to stick with what had made him successful even if it looked weird to everyone else.
