I wanted to make a sort of goodbye post on PR before I left, and given that I have exactly 12 hours left until I'm officially on my mission, I better do it now =).
Tomorrow, I'm leaving for Utah to head to the LDS Church's Missionary Training Center. I'll spend three weeks there before I go the the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission. In total, I will be gone for two years. I will be spending my time proselyting and doing service in the communities where I serve. This also means that I will be gone from PR for those two years, and I will obviously miss interacting with the community here.
I wanted to thank everyone for the experience of being a Rockies fan with people. I grew up in central Illinois, and I always felt like the odd man out when it came to baseball fandom.
Even though today might be a dark day for many Rockies fans, I know that, when this team does turn things around, the excitement will make the prior struggles worth it. Even if the season ends short of expectations, I can promise that, at least once, the team will show a newfound fire that will spark the hope and anticipation that every fan hopes for.
Thanks again for all of the great memories, and for the ever-present hope that maybe, just maybe, I will be watching when the Rockies lighs up LoDo with Rocktober Part III.
