This is going to be an exciting game for one reason and one reason alone: Drew Pomeranz is pitching. Pomeranz has been one of the only bright spots of this abysmal September race to the bottom. One of the few signs of hope. One of the youngest, scaredest looking pitchfaces around.

So I asked my dad what the rockies need to win next year....
He said “obviously they need more J.D. Closser.” Its amazing that after all this time my dad still hasn’t forgotten his massive man crush for J.D. Closser. Also Pomeranz was terrible today. I’m thinking maybe Alex White is starting to rub off on him.

Is what really needs to go. Yes, getting rid of Jim Tracy and dinger would help, but our 7th inning song is what’s really killing us. There are several reasons why it should go. It’s not very unique. It’s just a remake of an older, better song. It’s kinda cheesy. It’s also kind of disturbing to look around and see middle aged women singing “Ooh! Ahh!” to their 10 year old sons. Whatever happend to Mountain Music? I’m not a country fan, but that song wasn’t so cheesy and very unique to Coors Field.
We are now just 2 games back of the 5th draft pick (9th at the moment)
All this losing has some benefit, too bad it doesn’t seem to be a great draft crop

Integrity of the game under attack....
NO team should be rewarded for dogging it the rest of the season after they enter the meaningless stretch of games in September, but that’s exactly what’s happening for the cheatin’ Rox. Just five more games to take a dive in and we might get that fifth draft pick after all!
That’s a mighty strong accusation that I’m making, may be your response. And you are right, I have no proof of a concerted effort to minimize our season win total now. In fact, that’s a crackpot conspiracy theory and I should be banned for it. But wait, isn’t this the sport of the Black Sox? That was a far worse thing than a simple surrender our team is undertaking now for the sake of being a winner in 2012’s amateur draft. We may be “attacking” the integrity of the game, but we aren’t destroying it.
Nobody will investigate the Rockies and we will get away with this plan. It’s all worked out so well for us. Minor ailments to our three best hitters have been exploited into an excuse for keeping them out of games. To make it seem honest, they put Tulo in a handful of games (innings really) to make it seem that they are trying field a legit MLB lineup. It’s window dressing.
Anyone who saw Cargo’s wrist injury could tell he wasn’t that hurt. In fact, while he winced a little bit after contacting the wall, he also smiled wryly. Yet they have to put a brace on the wrist and shut him down? Convenient, I say.
People put braces on their necks to try to win lawsuits. The cheatin’ Rox do that to one of their best player’s wrist to try to win a better draft spot. Let’s face it…..we have tanked the final half of September two years in a row. It’s just too much of a coincidence. It’s also too coincidental that all three of our best hitters are too injured to play at the same time. Yes, I think they are all hurting and not 100% healthy, but I have news for you. Baseball players play through dings and pain most of the time. Except if you’re a member of the cheatin’ Rox where it’s fine to sit out the rest of the schedule to help the cause.
Either this is BS or my entire post is BS, and I don’t know what to believe myself anyway. Wink, wink. Attack away.

I'm glad you took it that way...
I enjoy writing, and am a pretty good writer, if I do say so myself. Fiction may not be my favorite genre of writing, but it may be what I have written here. Or maybe not! You decide.
