"Jamie Moyer in the house, yo! Hey, you guys need to buy me some beer? I'm totally cool with that, bra. This Spring Break is going to be tight! Whoah, check out the hotties! Hey baby, how you doing?"
No but seriously, there was once a blog devoted to how awesome it was that somebody as ancient as Moyer was still pitching. And now he's pitching again and like all sorts of important stuff has happened since he last pitched, like Rebecca Black and The Smurfs movie. I imagine a few here will be disappointed in Moyer, as he's old, and the Internet's no country for old men, but really if the Rockies young guns can't be a 49 year old, we're better off with the 49 year old.
As Troy Renck reports and provides photographic evidence, Dexter Fowler has bulked up... considerably. It will be interesting to see what impact this may have for the Rockies center fielder or if he'll be another "best shape in his life" Spring story that gets lost come summertime. After getting a big raise, Fowler says that he is ready for a big season.

I have a friend who just got a job recently with the rockies and i texted her the pic of dex since I know she likes him
and she said she saw him today and hes still really skinny. she said she also saw Cargo and he asked her if he looked fat.

For what it's worth the indictment apparently includes money laundering and there have been multiple arrests.
I think in past cases of sites being shut down, there weren’t arrests. I have a feeling this may go deeper than simply hosting copyrighted material.
I was reading more on The Verge
and I’m not sure what is going on anymore. They arrested the main guy Kim Dot Com, but we’ll see. And in response “Anonymous” attacked the DOJ, MPAA, RIAA and UMG sites today bringing all of them down.
This might get real nasty.

than the closer faced in the 9th. I’m sure there really is a mentality around “finishing the game” but, in reality, there’s probably little difference given that it’s not like the 3-4-5 hitters are always up in the 9th.

Its not something you can measure but from everything I’ve read the pitching in the 8th vs the 9th (on a consistent basis) is a different world. I love betancourt, just concerned about him closing, especially if he prefers not to. We’ll see though.
IMO,Betancourt proved his worth as the closer
last season. Doesn’t that count for something?

He’s still the best option, and I hope it works out, but I’m skeptical. I’m hoping Brothers makes some major progress this season and can close in 2013. Personally I like power closers, and I don’t think the slow pace Betancourt pitches at works well for the defense, particularly in the 9th.

If you look at the splits by batting order on BRef
Plate appearances:
1-2 hitters – Betancourt: 46, Street 65
3-6 hitters – B: 106, S: 101
7-9 hitters – B: 83, 73
In 2010, those numbers looked like:
1-2 hitters – B: 46, S: 34
3-6 hitters – B: 116, S: 89
7-9 hitters – 86, S: 64
Betancourt pitched more innings than Street in 2010, but the point is that being the closer does not necessarily mean that you face tougher competition. The numbers demonstrate that Betancourt has faced the tough parts of the lineup as often as Street in the last two seasons.
I think it's more of the defined role mentality
Betancourt has always been given the 8th inning role for a while now, and he ran away with the 9th when he had it. I just Betancourt feels more comfortable when he knows when he’s pitching, unlike in 2009 when he didn’t know if he or Morales was closing that day.
