I'm guessing it has to be rWAR

since Ubaldo actually had a value of -0.4 after the trade according to that metric.

Although baseball is full of teams suffering setbacks, it’s also full teams overcoming them. All I ask is for the Rockies to be defined by the latter category.

This involves making disparate sytems talk to each other.

Some of the well monitors are somewhat old and consequentialy old software. The rig monitors are more uptodate. The job entails letting the monitor station recieve info from the different systems and display it on a third system.
I warn you that your competition might include my brother who has done this for cable companies.

I miss Ubaldo, but that's the business

I’m definitely not with the “Good riddance” crowd (don’t know why Ubaldo would deserve any scorn whatsoever) but I’m happy that Ubaldo seems to have moved on.

I remember people feeling this way about Holliday too, but I’d say that trade worked out alright—not as well as I thought it had back in ’09, especially during the NLDS, but I digress.

Pomeranz has a lot to live up to, but I think he will surprise a lot of casual fans with how well he pitches.

But I don’t have anything against the man himself.

The other said “WOO” on one side and “YEE” on the other.

I'm a whatever on Spilly

He doesn’t fit this club anymore—he’s barely an MLB player now. Like him and all, but that time has passed. As for Ubaldo—well the jury is still out on the trade, but signs point to it working out at least for the Rockies.

My response would be meh.

Those two players provided two of the greatest moments in Rockies history, but I’m pretty indifferent on having them on my team this year. I wish Ubaldo was on our staff this year, but I’m pretty happy about the return we got in the trade for him, so I think long-term it will be fine to see him go. Therefore, meh.

Good for them.

might have to see Cleveland vs San Francisco in Scottsdale on the 14th. Rockies home game is a night game on the 14th. If Ubaldo pitches, that would make one hell of a good doubleheader.

I just think "Cool! They get to play together again"

What’s done is done. And I am sure most of you here hope that BOTH of these players play out of their minds for the Indians this year.

Till we beat them in the World Series of course :)

Ok, Von Doom is a way better nickname than what I liked. So cool to be excited about a pass rush in Denver again!

I want to say how awesome a particular Rockies player is and that he will be the MVP, but the last time I mentioned it in my sig he went out with an injury, so, GO PLAYER WHO IS SO AWESOME!

by Arimaris on Feb 23, 2012 8:58 AM MST reply actions

I'm happy for them. Still like the moves though

This picture doesn’t upset me or make me sad. It’s pretty cool for Spilly that Ubaldo’s on the team. And they aren’t wearing Yankees uniforms.

Ubaldo would have most likely gotten a BIG contract this past offseason were he still here, meaning we’d be paying him a bunch of money for what’s most likely a bridge year, meaning the FO couldn’t have made several of the moves made this past offseason. Probably they would have more or less stood pat. Worst case Ubaldo continues his bad habit of covering up injuries and we end up with no Ubaldo and none of the others going into the season. Ouch!

The proper response to this is a photo of Pomeranz, White, Cuddyer, and Scutaro warming up at Salt River Fields!
