Is there a point where you actually get bored? Because I can get used to this! I’ve been building shelves and cleaning out the garage all week. Today I’m getting my wife’s old car to run so we can sell it and have money for Spring Training.

OT: Amusing development on the job search front.
After college I came out here with my mom and did a bunch of interviews (did a few in Boston as well, but that’s neither here nor there). I got offered two jobs. The one that took, and another that I turned down, even though it would have been more money (they even upped their offer to try to change my mind).
Yesterday, I see this job on Craig’s List for a copy editor in Belmont. I find the company’s web site and begin to be suspicious. Look up their address, and sure enough, it’s the same company that I turned down all those years ago. No idea if it’s the same position, but must be pretty similar. I’m still not wild about it, since the products are no less boring to me than they were before, but I might as well apply.
So the question is, at what point in the process do I bring up the previous offer, if at all?

what explanation would you give for why you turned it down?

Basically just that I felt the other offer/company was a better fit for me at that time.
But yeah, explaining that is definitely a consideration.

I've interviewed over one hundred people throughout my career.
The biggest mistake is probably talking too much and saying something that might make me doubt you as a candidate.
