Colorado Mines v. Metro State

Went to their basketball game last night at Auraria – Mines won, and will now likely win the RMAC title. I was impressed with both teams, but Mines really knows how to rebound and get the ball to the rim. Hopefully they will both do some damage in the D-2 regionals.

Sort of on-topic, but

Did he ever actually marry Bridget Moynihan?

(probably got her name wrong…).

I knew they had a baby, but I thought she was having the baby right around the time he married Yoko Gisele. Which made me think there was no divorce there, just babydaddying…

And thankfully, he didn’t win Sunday. It makes me very happy to see that insanely overhyped franchise actually lose, and even happier when it happens on a big stage…

Brady was a game manager in the first two superbowls that he won

He was an above average quarterback in the second.
He is replaceable . The season he had his leg injury, Cassel helped the Patriots finish at 11-5. Most years, that gets you in the playoffs. Look at Indy without Manning, Manning has carried Indy to the post season year after year.
He is an above average quarterback who has been lucky to be healthy as long as he has that plays in a very good offense.
He is a below average quarterback under pressure (plenty of evidence this year alone).
He is a below average passer out of the pocket.
He is immobile, he plays behind a great offensive line, and has been blessed to be throwing the ball to an elite receiving core throughout his career.
Finally, he’s a stat compiler.

The Ravens should have been playing on Sunday, not the Patriots. I would say Brady is a top 5 starting quarterback in the league today, but he doesn’t even sniff my top 10 quarterbacks of all time.

I'd probably put Brady in my top 15 if I really thought about it.

But I would argue that Eli Manning is as good as Brady is at this stage in his career, Drew Breeze is making his way up the list, Jim Kelly gets the nod over Brady (4 superbowls in a row is a great feat).

I’m sorry, but Brady just hasn’t done the things that I’ve seen the guys on that list do. He’s just been lucky to be on the team that he is on.

You can make the statements.

But the nature of the game has fundamentally changed even over the last 15 years.

Baseball really hasn’t changed much since 1968. Steroids were a factor, but the game is roughly how it was with the exception of changes in the way that the bullpen is used.

The NFL game has gone through three or four fundamental changes since 1968.

That changes the business,

but not the game itself. The way that the game is played on the field was dramatically changed by lowering the mound.

That same year, the strike zone was changed to armpit to top of kneecap. And actually, the first use of the “designated pinch hitter” was the same year during spring training.
