I know changes need to be made, if something doesn't work management feels they need to "do what they need to do..." But in the case of Ryan Spilbourghs maybe some thought should have been put into moving him on.
Over the last several years, although not a regular starter, Spilbourghs was in the middle of some of the most memorable moments in
Rockies success. Late inning homeruns and doubles, etc. What he brough was attitude. Goofy, nutty, he was a dude, and apparently a dude who will be missed.
Nothing from the Colorado stalwarts: Helton, Tulowitzki, Gonzales, but Spilbourghs brought an "intangible". I would even add Torealba as an "intangible".
This team needs someone to Rock their world, and this last season they traded him off.
Eat. Drink. Be Merry. But the above FanPost does not necessarily reflect the attitudes, opinions, or views of Purple Row's staff (unless, of course, it's written by the staff [and even then, it still might not]).
