The Colorado Rockies signed supplemental first-round draft pick Eddie Butler, reports Troy Renck of the Denver Post. A press conference is scheduled at 5:30PM in which the Rockies will announce the signings of Butler, David Dahl, and Sean Willoughby. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Butler, the 46th overall selection, is a right-handed pitcher out of Radford University in Virginia. Baseball America rated him as the top overall player in the draft from the state. He is also a "ground ball machine with a long arm action and low arm slot that have him profiled as a reliever," writes Keith Law of ESPN.
