Home runs by Josh Rutledge and Andrew Brown and five innings of scoreless relief from the Rockies bullpen drove the Rockies to a 4-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Saturday afternoon. It was the first home run of the season for Brown, who had been recalled less than a week ago with Eric Young Jr's injury. Brown hit the shot off of former Rockies closer Manny Corpas, who took the loss for the Cubs. For Rutledge, it was his first home run since August 4th and seventh of the season.

Alex White pitched four innings, allowing three runs (two earned due to a Chris Nelson error) while giving up five hits and walking one. The bullpen was very effective, with Carlos Torres, Rex Brothers, Will Harris and Rafael Betancourt shutting down the Cubs the rest of the way, allowing just one hit and one walk while K'ing four in five innings.
