Jhoulys Chacin was very effective in his return to the big leagues, using just 73 pitches to get through six innings while allowing only one run on four hits. Building on that would be huge for both Chacin and the Rockies. Meanwhile, Chris Volstad, who was once a hyped prospect for the Miami Marlins, has fizzled out big time at the major league level, turning into a slightly better version of Greg Reynolds. Volstad has been the victim of a bit of bad luck this season, but overall, his stuff matches his numbers.
With a win today, the Rockies will finish the road trip 6-1, which will be the third best trip in franchise history. That would truly be remarkable in a season that has been as much of a shitshow as 2012 has. Personally, I'm rooting for it; I know the majority of the people here are too, and that's why I love all of you.
