AA Tulsa: W 6-3 (68-64, 2nd, 6.5 GB)
Troy Tulowitzki was back in the lineup for the Drillers on Sunday. He went 0-for-3, but did drive in a run on a groundout and reached on an error. Tim Torres was Tulsa's offensive star, as he homered, drove in two, walked twice, and scored three runs. In addition, Michael Mitchell, Kiel Roling and Chris Petit had two hits apiece. Jason Giambi did not play.

The offense didn't need to do much behind Joe Gardner, who was brilliant on the mound for the Drillers. Gardner allowed one run (on a solo homer) on three hits and a walk in seven innings. He struck out seven.

AAA Colorado Springs: W 6-1 (72-64, 2nd, 3 GB)
Cory Riordan had a magnificent outing for the Sky Sox, as he tossed six scoreless innings in which he allowed just four hits and a walk while striking out six. Reliever Jason Bergmann had an interesting day as well, as he allowed some traffic in his two innings (four hits and two walks), but recorded all six of his outs via K.

Padres starter Andrew Cashner kept the Sky Sox scoreless in his rehab appearance, lasting three innings and striking out four. However, Colorado Springs broke through for four runs in the fourth inning, with the big blow coming on a two-run double from Tim Wheeler. Tommy Field and Wilkin Castillo each had two hits to pace the Sky Sox offense.

More recaps after the jump.

A+ Modesto: W 9-1 (70-62, t-1st)
Continuing with the theme of great pitching, Josh Mueller had a nice night for the Nuts on the mound. He lasted seven innings, allowing just one run on five hits and two walks while punching out four. Geoff Parker and William Rankin tossed two scoreless frames of relief to shut the door.

Kyle Parker and Dustin Garneau both went 2-for-4 with a homer. Parker's was his 22nd on the year. Juan Crousset also homered for Modesto and, like Parker and Garneau, drove in two.

A Asheville: L 5-4 (83-50, 1st)
Jordan Ribera had a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two doubles, a homer, and a walk in the Tourists' loss. In addition, Ryan Casteel and David Kandilas had two hits apiece.

Daniel Winkler was solid on the mound, going six innings and allowing two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four. However, Nelson Gonzalez and Jefri Hernandez combined to allow three runs in 2.1 innings, robbing the starter of a win.

A- (SS) Tri-City: L 4-2 (30-41, 3rd, 5 GB)
The Dust Devils, who were held to just four hits on the day, lost a tough one after squandering a 2-1 lead heading into the eighth inning.

Roberto Padilla tossed six innings of one-run ball, allowing just three hits and a walk while striking out three. After Joshua Slaats struck out the side in the seventh, Ryan Arrowood came on and imploded in the eighth. He gave up three runs on four hits in blowing his first save of the year. Despite the rough outing, his ERA still sits at 2.12 for the season.

RK Grand Junction: L 8-3 (36-29, 2nd, 0.5 GB)
Finally, a starting pitcher who did not have a great game, although there were some positives to be drawn in Johendi Jiminian's outing. While he allowed four runs and walked three batters, he pitched into the sixth inning, gave up just four hits, and induced seven groundouts compared to five flyouts.

Max White provided all of the Rockies' offense - in terms of runs, anyway - as he drilled a three-run homer in the eighth inning to get Grand Junction on the board. Jason Stolz led the club in hits on the day with three. Pioneer League MVP David Dahl had a rare rough day at the plate, going 0-for-4 with three K's.
