Drew Pomeranz allowed four runs in three innings, with a three run home run off the bat of Jesus Guzman doing most of the damage, and the Rockies wound up losing to the Padres four to three on Saturday night. Pomernz allowed four hit, walked two and struck out three, but couldn't avoid giving up the big blow when he got into trouble in the bottom of the third inning, allowing Guzman to homer with two outs and two runners on base. Five Rockies relievers combined for another shutout effort for the remaining five innings, but it wouldn't prove enough as the offense couldn't crack Casey Kelly and the Padres bullpen.

Chris Nelson continued his recent hot stretch with a two for four night that included an RBI double in the Rockies three run seventh inning rally. Charlie Blackmon and Wilin Rosario both also had a pair of hits for the Rockies in the loss.
