Colorado Rockies farmhands Cristhian Adames, Kyle Parker and Dustin Garneau combined for four hits in Arizona Fall League action on Wednesday, but fellow Rockies minor leaguer Cole White surrendered a two-run homer in the sixth inning that wound up costing the Salt River Rafters the game.
Parker tripled, singled and scored a pair of runs and Garneau launched his first home run of the AFL season, a solo shot in the top of the sixth inning. Garneau also reached via a walk. Adames singled in five at-bats from the top of the Rafters' order.
White came on in relief and failed to get out of the sixth inning. He surrendered three runs -- two earned -- and gave up the home run to Los Angeles Dodgers minor league catcher Pratt Maynard. The long ball gave Glendale a 7-4 lead. The Desert Dogs tacked on one more in the sixth, but it was Maynard's shot off of White that proved to provide the winning runs in their 8-6 victory.
The Rafters, who sit at 2-5 in AFL play, are back on the field against the Desert Dogs on Thursday at 7:35 p.m. MT.
