The Salt River Rafters earned a pair of victories over the weekend with the help of a few Colorado Rockies prospects. Let's take a look back:
Friday: Salt River 5, Peoria 3
Tim Wheeler got the Rafters on the board with a two-run single in the bottom of the fourth inning. Dustin Garneau added a double and a walk and scored a run from the bottom of the order. Kyle Parker went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts.
Dan Houston worked a pair of scoreless innings in relief of starter Sam Gaviglio to earn a hold.
Saturday: Salt River 8, Mesa 2
In the top of the seventh inning in a scoreless tie, Cristhian Adames hit a two-out triple to score the game's first run. Adames also contributed in a big way in the Rafters' seven-run ninth with the bases loaded, making enough contact to force the hand of Mesa second baseman Taylor Lindsey, who made a bases-clearing throwing error. Adames advanced all the way to third and scored a batter later.
Kraig Sitton struck out four in two scoreless innings of relief. Cole White finished the game for the Rafters, punching out two batters and walking one in a scoreless ninth.
The Rafters will be back on the grind at 1:35 p.m. MT on Monday against Peoria. Salt River has yet to list its starting pitcher for the game.
