Colorado Rockies outfield prospect Kyle Parker homered and doubled in four trips to the plate in the Salt River Rafters' 5-3 loss to the Peoria Javelinas in Arizona Fall League action on Tuesday.
Parker snapped a 1-for-13, four-strikeout skid with a solo shot off of Padres pitching prospect Adys Portillo in the fourth inning. Two innings later, Parker hit a ground-rule double to score Cardinals outfield prospect Stephen Piscotty, who doubled in Rockies shortstop Cristhian Adames in the previous at-bat.
Adames went 1-for-5 with three strikeouts.
Another Rockies farmhand, Tim Wheeler, joined Parker and Adames in the Rafters' starting lineup. Wheeler went 0-for-4 with a pair of punch-outs but notched an outfield assist by gunning down Philadelphia Phillies minor league catcher Cameron Rupp at the plate to end the third.
The Rafters (4-8) continue AFL play on Wednesday against the Surprise Saguaros at 1:35 p.m. MT. Blue Jays minor league hurler Aaron Sanchez will start for Salt River opposite Indians farmhand Will Roberts.
