Rockies minor leaguers Cristhian Adames and Dustin Garneau combined for three home runs and 10 runs batted in in the Salt River Rafters' 20-0 win over the Peoria Javelinas on Saturday.
Adames led all players with four hits, including a double and a home run, while also drawing a walk and scoring four times. Garneau hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning and walloped a grand slam three innings later to finish the day with a pair of homers and six RBI. Garneau increased his AFL line to .231/.375/.654 in 32 plate apperances.
Cole White was the lone Rockies farmhand to appear on the mound in the blowout. He struck out two and walked one in a hitless ninth inning.
Adames had a strong performance on Thursday as well, smacking a pair of singles and driving in a run in the Rafters' 10-9 win. Adames is hitting .333/.371/.545 in 35 AFL plate apperances. Tim Wheeler doubled, drove in a pair of runs and scored in that game, as well. Rockies relief prospects Kraig Sitton and Tyler Matzek struggled in the Thursday game, combining to allow a pair of runs on four hits and three walks. Sitton's ERA sits at 11.81, while Matzek sports a 9.00 ERA.
Kyle Parker only appeared in one game during the weekend slate, going 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Salt River's win on Friday.
