Rockies starter Jorge de la Rosa was scratched from tonight's start due to tightness in his left forearm. As the Denver Post reports, de la Rosa does not believe the soreness is a big deal and that his start has merely been pushed back, but it may still give some pause for a pitcher coming off surgery in his left elbow.
Also an interesting note in the Post about Rex Brother's quieter, more effective mechanics.
In JDLR's absence, Jeff Manship gets the start bringing his 4.50 ERA and completely awesome name to the mound for the Rockies. His counterpart for this evening's scrimmage is Padres righty Freddy Garcia. Wait, what? I honestly had no idea the Padres had Freddy Garcia. He'll test his ERA of 9.77 against a lineup that features Todd Helton hitting third and Wilin Rosario as his lineup protection (cheap plug) fresh off another HR fueled performance. Josh Rutledge has dropped into the 7th slot.
