Friday Pebble Report: Nolan Arenado is muy caliente

It may not be long till phenom Nolan Arenado is called up if he keeps raking like this. The Rockies affiliates went 3-1 and had one game suspended due to rain on Thursday.

AAA: Colorado Springs 5, Tucson 4

The Sky sox (4-3) took both games of a doubleheader against the Padres AAA affiliate yesterday. Nolan Arenado was at it once again in game one going 2-4 with a 2B and 2 RBI's. He had opportunities with men on base because DJ LeMahieu was 3-4 in front of him in the 2 spot. Ryan Wheeler cracked a walk off solo homerun in the final frame to win it for the Sox.

Christian Friedrich started and pitched 4 innings allowing 3 runs, all unearned, in the 2nd inning because of an Arenado fielding error. Manny Coraps followed Friedrich and gave up a run in his one inning of work. Coty Woods picked up the victory with 2 scoreless innings to end it.

Game 2: Colorado Springs 4, Tucson 3

Arenado was 1-1 with a double and two BB's in game two. His average is now a ridiculous .476 after 7 games. The Sky Sox walked off again in game two this time thanks to a Charlie Blackmon triple that scored the tying and winning run.

Josh Outman got the win throwing two 2 innings of relief with no runs and just one hit allowed. Outman has given up just one unearned run in 8 innings so far this season.

AA: Tulsa 6, San Antonio 2

Tulsa (2-5) got their second win if the season. Kent Matthes was 2-4 with his 2nd HR of the season. Kyle Parker was 0-4 with 2 K's. Kiel Roling had a pinch hit 2 RBI double in the 9th that cemented the victory.

Christian Bergman started and worked 5.2 innings giving up 2 runs 1 earned on 7 hits to go along with 5 K's, he did not issue a walk. Joe Gardner worked his first scoreless appearance of the season pitching 1.2 innings with 2 hits 2 BB's and 4 K's.

High A: Lancaster 5, Modesto 1

Modesto (2-5) mustered just one unearned run in a weak offensive performance. Trevor Story continued his slow start going 0-4 with 1 K. Modesto managed just 4 hits, all of them singles, and one walk off of Lancaster pitching.

Starter Ben Alsup pitched just 3.1 innings surrendering 2 runs off of 7 hits and 1 BB. He was the losing pitcher and saw his record fall to (1-1).

Low A: West Virginia 5, Asheville 0

SUSPENDED during the 5th inning due to rain. Game will be completed 4/12/13.

Asheville (5-2) trails West Virginia during the 5th inning of a rain suspended game. Asheville has just one hit a single from Tom Murphy.

Benjamin Hughes got roughed up in his 4.1 innings of work allowing 5 runs 4 earned on 9 hits and 1 BB's, he struck out 2.
