A familiar face will be on the mound for the San Diego Padres today in the Colorado Rockies' 2013 home opener.
Jason Marquis, who posted a 4.0 fWAR for the Rockies in 2009, will oppose Jeff Francis, who is coming off of a solid spring but is what he is at this point in his career: A back-end guy who hopefully stays healthy throughout the year and gives the Rockies a 4.50 to 5.00 ERA.
Marquis is that guy, too, for the Padres, which isn't good because they've given up 20 runs in three games so far this season with pitchers that should be better than him on the mound. Hopefully the Rockies continue the trend the Mets started against the Friars hurlers before being temporarily derailed by former Rockie Eric Stults on Thursday.
LET'S GO ROCKIES!
