Friday Pebble Report: Kiel Roling and Corey Dickerson homer

Dustin Bradford

Corey Dickerson hit his ninth of the year and Charlie Blackmon had two RBIs for the Sky Sox. If the Rockies call up another outfielder with CarGo and Fowler banged up, who gets the call? Elsewhere, in Asheville, the Tourists' rallied for an impressive comeback.

Triple-A Colorado Springs 5-4 W (36-29)

Corey Dickerson batting third, hit his ninth home run of the year, a solo shot, and Colorado Springs won 5-4 Thursday night. Charlie Blackmon chipped in two RBIs and Matt McBride had one. The Sky Sox were able to put together a four-run third inning and hold on late for the victory.

Cory Riordan started and went just four innings, but he allowed just one run and struck out six. Brett Jacobsen followed him with two scoreless innings and picked up his first win of the year. Logan Kensing recorded the final out to pick up his seventh save.

Double-A Tulsa 5-2 L, 2-1 W (33-33)

The Drillers picked up a split on Thursday winning the night cap of a double header 2-1.

In game one, the Drillers were held to just two runs, both coming on solo shots. Dustin Garneau hit his fourth of the year in the second inning and Kiel Roling his 16th in the fourth inning. Tulsa had just four other hits in the game and couldn't manage to push another run across the plate

Tim Gustafson started and took his fifth loss of the season, he gave up four runs in five innings, including seven hits and two walks.

In game two, Tulsa was held to just two runs again, but this time it was enough as five pitchers combined to surrenders just one run.

Jayson Langfels and Dustin Garneau recorded the two RBIs on the night for the Drillers. Tulsa managed just four hits and was 1-10 with RISP.

Dan Houston started the nightcap and pitched four hit less innings before giving way to josh Mueller who moved to 2-0 on the season by pitching a scoreless fifth. Cole White recorded his fifth save.

High A- Modesto 3-2 L (31-36)

Starting pitcher Ben Alsup was solid, going seven innings ans giving up three runs, two earned. However, he took the loss as Modesto's bats were not able to get the job done.

Brian Humphries drove in both Modesto runs, but that was all Modesto could muster despite collecting eight hits. Jared Simon and Harold Riggins both had two hits for the Nuts.

Low A- Asheville 7-6 W (35-30)

Asheville got three runs in the ninth inning to complete their comeback from a 6-2 deficit in the late innings. Rosell Herrera drove in his 45th run and Francisco Sosa his 47th. Matt Wessinger collected three hits and an RBI, but it was Michael Ramirez' two-run double in the ninth that allowed the Tourists' to walkk-off winners.

Ben Hughes pitched five innings, but was roughed up, he surrendered six runs on seven hits and four walks.Alving Mejias and Andrew Brown were able to pick up the slack, both delivering two scoreless innings to allow Asheville's offense to come back.

DSL Rockies 18-3 W (6-5)

The Dominican Rockies annihilated the Dominican Phillies 18-3 on Thursday. Hopefully, the real Rockies can do that to the real Phillies on Friday night.

Luis Castro was 5-5 with two RBIs and two doubles. Hitting right behind Castro was Henry Garcia -- who was 3-5 and drove in five runs -- Garcia, certainly benefited from Castro getting on ahead of him.

Antonio Senzatela pitched six solid innings, giving up just one run on four hits, zero walks, and five punch-outs
