After being shut down by Bronson Arroyo in a 3-0 loss on Monday, the Rockies will look to bounce back against the Reds and Homer Bailey. Bailey enters the game with a 3.84 ERA to go with his 4-3 record. He struggled in his last start at Cleveland, allowing seven runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings.
The Rockies will counter with righty Juan Nicasio on the mound, who sports a 4.79 ERA and a record of 4-2 entering the game. Nicasio had an uneven outing in his last game, allowing five runs on seven hits in five innings against Houston at Coors Field. He will be looking to return to the form of his two previous starts, in which he allowed a total of just two runs in 11 innings of work.
Cincinnati enters the game with baseball's best home record at 21-7, while the Rockies are just 12-16 on the road. Yesterday's win against the Rockies was the Reds' first game against an NL West opponent this year and moved the Rockies to 4-6 against NL Central foes.
The Rockies lineup features DJ LeMahieu getting just his second start of the season at third base in place of Nolan Arenado, with Jonathan Herrera filling in at second. Also, Yorvit Torrealba will catch Nicasio for the third straight start. The only change in the Reds lineup from yesterday is Donald Lutz in left field for Xavier Paul.
