Michael Cuddyer's value

I am a Michael Cuddyer fan from the time he came to the Twins' organization. He is my all-time favorite player and I've been a baseball fan since 1961. I was happy for him when he signed after a good year in 2011. I have followed his progress for the Rockies and I am delighted for him and for his team that he is having a career year at age 34. Cuddy is somewhat overshadowed by Gonzalez and Tulo. Both are regarded as being the NL's best at their position and are in the prime of their careers. I am wondering what the Rockies fan base thinks of their third All-Star, specifically if he is seen as a leader and a good influence on others, or whether he is viewed as a mercenary--you get his production and then wish him a fond farewell when his contract is up. I thought of Cuddyer as a thorough professional, who goes about the game seriously, but enjoys immensely what he is doing. Further, from his time in Minny, I can't remember one misstep in dealing with the fans and the media. Best wishes to the Rockies and Cuddyer the rest of the season, it looks like they will need some good fortune to stay in contention.
